French Toast

Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a shallow dish
  2. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat
  3. Dip each bread slice in the egg mixture, coating both sides
  4. Cook on skillet until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side
  5. Serve with maple syrup

Notes

  • Brioche or challah bread works best
  • Let bread stale overnight for better absorption
